| Here, when we want people to smile, we say “Cheese”. In France we say “Ouistiti” – pronounced “Weesteetee”. Don’t ask us why – guess it’s the “ee” that counts!
For those of you who don’t know, a Ouistiti – Wistiti in English – is also called a Tamarin or Marmoset. It is a colorful cute little monkey no taller than 12 inches, some weighing only 3 ounces. With their long tail and furry faces, they are always monkeying around – which is why the French also use the word to fondly nickname their young children when they are having fun. Come to think of it, the thought of a Ouistiti does make me smile, and children too. We can’t really say the same when we think of Cheese. With all due respect to our Wisconsin friends, “Fromage” won’t get you very far… By the way, featured here are my own six Ouistitis monkeying around. As the play unfolds this is where we come in – to capture these joyful instants, fragments of our memories which fade away too fast. We are a team of photographers based in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. We specialize in location lifestyle and portrait photography for children and families. We chase the happy, crave heart stopping moments and cross our fingers for tears of joy! While you’re here, visit our galleries, look for session information or visit our journal to see what we have been up to. In life there is nothing more important than family (although at times cupcakes and coffee seem pretty high up on the list). We love what we do. We find it an incredible joy, honor, and an absolute dream to get to play with children and families and capture the giggles, grins and snuggles, create memories for generations to come. So sit back, relax, enjoy the pictures and the stories they tell. Leave a comment in our journal, because that’s what makes a story. It’s great to have you here. Warning: This blog may be slightly addictive. Common side effects are dizziness, sweaty palms, contagious laughter, the uncontrollable urge to dance, rapid heartbeat, tingling in your toes and jumping for joy. Please do not consult a physician…just keep reading and pass along to friends! Sally Prissert & Lotte “L” Gudbrand |
