It felt just so good to be back in Northwood Village. Besides some commercial work, it had been a while since we did a children’s session at one of our favorite shooting locations. As we are making friends with the residents and shop & restaurant owners we really feel part of the family when we are out there.
Old Northwood was developed in the early 1920s during the Florida boom era. Prominent architects such as John Volk and William King designed homes that made Old Northwood one of the most exclusive communities this side of Palm Beach. By the 1970s, however, the boom time glamour was long gone. The renaissance of Old Northwood began in the mid eighties when residents formed an association to revitalize and restore this important part of West Palm Beach history.
We highly recommend you visit the neighborhood’s next monthly Art & Wine Promenade. The next one is next week on November 18th. You will love it!
Back to our session.
We had an absolute blast with Drew and Mr. Ace, the BEST dog EVER! In and out the car about 5 times he would just make himself comfortable wherever we told him to. A special thank you goes out to Tasha, a gem of a nanny who was such a KEY player to get these shots done! Drew was just the coolest! We woke him up from his afternoon nap when we arrived on location and he was all game within a few minutes!
ENJOY this precious twosome! It was hard to make a selection for our readers and we can’t wait to show the family all the images.
As we were climbing playsets and rolling in the mulch with all the kids during their recess time last week, we realized that we have been capturing this years’ graduates since they started in the 2s. It’s just really sweet because here at TBD is where Weesteetee started, some of those 2s were our first “official” subjects; the first families who hired us to capture their children’s souls and create beautiful art for their homes. The rest is history and we can’t tell you enough how we have been loving this venture every step along the way.
This year the PTO will be selling the portraits to the grandparents at grandparents’ day in january. We will again make a big wall gallery with a B&W portrait of each child. Parents are of course welcome to get in touch to take a peak at the different shots we got of their little ones and purchase their own portraits; just drop us a note in the comment box below or give us a call.
Enjoy!
