Home for the holidays

We had a such a great “backyard” session with this beautiful family who had the kids home for the holidays. Their property actually touches one of our favorite shooting locations so it was easy to just grab Marli and Bella the dogs for a full family shot.
Thank you Alissa and Max for being such good sports “doing this for mom”!! Trust us, she will not be the only one treasuring these images as time goes by….

Emilia, Bailey & Ollie

We are counting the days until Emmy’s Bat Mitzvah which is coming up in March.

During her portrait session she introduced us to her soulmates Ollie (the dog) and Bailey (the horse). We also finally got to meet her sister Charlotte.:)

Again, just like with Anna and Leah last week, you will notice how one minute we capture the girl and the next the “woman” to be…it’s really fascinating.

Enjoy!

Countdown to Leah’s Bat Mitzvah

We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are about our 2012 Bat Mitzvah schedule!

After 2010 and 2011 capturing boys only (besides Maddie & Sam’s B’nai Mitzvah) we have a full schedule of girls ahead of us. :) We will start off the year with our Katie in a couple of weeks and then we have 10 more Bat Mitzvahs to follow before the start of the summer. L’Chaim!

Now here’s why we love capturing the girls. Obviously, as mothers of six boys, this is such a wonderful opportunity to get our “girl fix”. But beyond that, it’s really very fascinating to capture them at this challenging age of transition….

Let us illustrate with Leah…

One minute we capture the girl….

Life after professional golfer careers…

Patricia and Antoine were in need of some fresh action/head shots for their website. They offer revolutionary golf coaching methods to golfers of all levels around the globe.

Patricia has had a very successful professional golf career on the European and LPGA Tour including a major championship win in 2003 at the Kraft Nabisco. Today, helping people find answers for their own game, is what replaces the challenge of competition and she is equally passionate about this new direction.

Antoine was an accomplished player himself with several first place finishes on the french and european tours. An injury in 1999 required him to refocus his goals and this is when he embarked on his coaching and professional caddying career for his wife Patricia. Today he is a passionate teacher who has dedicated much of his life to understanding and translating the complexities of golf. He has focused energy specifically to golf swing technique and making improvements consistent with a player’s skill level and individual goals/objectives.

Their precious daughter Phildine came along for some family shots and portraits. :)

Beautiful Anna

We had such a wonderful time capturing beautiful Anna and her family; big bros Alex & Gabriel, mom and Tootsie the dog. Unfortunately dad was on a business trip; we can’t wait to meet him when we will be capturing the festivities around Anna’s upcoming Bat Mitzvah in February.

We had a special connection right away. They relocated back to the US not so long ago after living for many years on the dutch island of Curacao. We sang dutch songs together to break the ice and were welcomed with a good old bag of dutch “pepernoten” (literally, ‘pepper nuts’, are a cookie-like kind of candy, traditionally associated with the early December Sinterklaas holiday in the Netherlands and Belgium.) This special taste of childhood absolutely made our day!

Enjoy!
